When the Baitrunner technology was first released it revolutionised angling and soon every angler wanted a bit of it. Responding to requests to produce a Baitrunner system on a compact big pit, Shimano produced this: the Baitrunner X-Aero RA. Combining the outstanding performance of Aero concept technology with the ease of the Baitrunner system, Shimano might very well have created the ultimate compact big pit reel.
To achieve extreme casting performance Shimano’s Aero concept utilises a larger spool diameter than traditionally used, which has the dual purpose of enabling almost one meter of line return for each turn of the handle. To counteract any problems that using a large spool might cause, Shimano have also employed Aero Wrap II technology on this reel, ensuring perfect line management.
Shimano has also responded to the requests for powerful single handled options of this reel and both the 8000 and the 10000 sizes are fitted with a single handle. This ensures that they are incredibly high powered reels, perfect for those anglers who want to punch their lines out far into the water and tackle those exceptionally big fish. To satisfy the anglers who prefer a dual handled reel the 6000 remains in dual handled format.
The line clip on the Baitrunner X-Aero RA has been designed to ensure it is completely line friendly, allowing you the maximum amount of usable line. This reel has an incredible gear ratio of 4.6:1 and is supported by the inclusion of six shielded AR-B and one roller bearing in the 8000 and 10000 models. The 6000 model has eight shield AR-B as well as the roller bearing. This ensures you are able to experience exceptionally smooth cranking power.
